Abstract
We present a study of the differential-difference Kadomtsev-Petviashvili eq uation; which was derived using the differential-difference version of Sate 's theory. We focus on the singularity structure of the equation, in partic ular the Painleve properly and singularity confinement. Moreover we study i ts symmetries (both Lie and generalized) and derive some interesting simila rity reductions. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
