Abstract
The active carbon with a high specific surface area (more than 3 000 m(2)/g ) was prepared by activating the carbonized rice husks by using potassium h ydroxide as the activating agent, The effects of preparation parameters on the properties of the active carbon were studied, and its structure was cha racterized preliminarily.
