Dg. Steyn et al., OVERVIEW OF TROPOSPHERIC OZONE IN THE LOWER FRASER VALLEY, AND THE PACIFIC-93 FIELD-STUDY, Atmospheric environment, 31(14), 1997, pp. 2025-2035
This paper provides an overview of ozone pollution in the Lower Fraser
Valley, and summarizes a large, multi-agency held study of that probl
em. The paper provides a context and general background for the 12 pap
ers in this special issue, and serves to provide a general. environmen
tal context for their more detailed reports. In addition, we summarize
the major findings of all papers in this collection. While most of th
e findings are significant additions to our knowledge of ozone polluti
on in the region, the most notable findings relate to the great import
ance of biogenically emitted volatile organic compounds as ozone precu
rsors in this region. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
