A model of current oscillation of copper potentiostatic electrodissolution
in acidic chloride solution is proposed. It involves nonlinear steps domina
ted by couplings between chemical reactions and current, The linear stabili
ty theorem, as well as the bifurcation analysis is applied to discussing re
gimes of dynamic behavior in the parametric plane, Furthermore, both the po
larization curve and the current oscillation curve are calculated respectiv
ely modeled as a stable steady state function related to the externally con
trolled potential and a stable limit cycle on state plane. The theoretical
results are in good qualitative agreement with experimental observation rep
orted in literature, It is concluded that the theoretical study of isoampli
tude electrochemical oscillation can be achieved in light of Hopf bifurcati
on analysis.
