Rc. Richter et al., Correlated photofragment product distributions in the photodissociation ofNO2 at 212.8 nm, CHEM P LETT, 319(3-4), 2000, pp. 341-348
The 212.8 nm photolysis of NO2 has been studied using REMPI-TOF and LIF tec
hniques. Photodissociation occurs via a parallel transition on a time scale
which is rapid compared to molecular rotation, producing anisotropic TOF p
rofiles. Analysis of state selected NO flight profiles gives the correlated
photofragment product distributions and shows that the predominant photodi
ssociation channel produces vibrationally excited NO in v = 3 with (OD)-D-1
as the co-fragment. If NO is formed in a rovibrational level for which (OD
)-D-1 production is energetically allowed then it is the exclusively produc
ed co-fragment. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
