Abstract
A novel peroxo-niobophosphate was synthesized for the first time and used a s a catalyst in the oxidation reaction of cyclic olefins with aqueous hydro gen peroxide to prepare dialdehydes. The catalyst was characterized by elem ental analysis, thermographic analyses, IR, UV/vis, P-31 NMR and XPS spectr a as [pi-C5H5N(CH2)(13)CH3](2) [Nb4O6(O-2)(2)(PO4)(2)]. 6H(2)O (PTNP). It s howed high selectivity to glutaraldehyde in the catalytic oxidation of cycl opentene with aqueous hydrogen peroxide in ethanol.
