Results of research into the reduction of polypropylene fibres' (PP) flamma
bility are discussed in this paper. Commercial flame retardant additives we
re used for reduction of PP fibres' flammability. Fibre resistance against
light action as well as resistance to additive washing were studied. A limi
ted oxygen index was used for determination of fibre flammability. The elab
oration of a technology of two new flame resistant fibre assortments, such
as fibre-grade tapes and filaments, as well as their industrial implementat
ion at the STRADOM S.A, mill were practical results of our research.
