An analytical procedure for the evaluation of a feeding algorithm is sugges
ted, which obtains peak-torque performances of asynchronous induction motor
s fed by electric power converters. At the same time, it shows that the alg
orithm envisaged represents an improved solution of the well known field-or
iented control technique. The procedure is also applied to saturated machin
es, because the peak-torque performance envisaged implies that traditionall
y designed motors operate with air-gap flux densities higher than their rat
ed values.
