Abstract
In this paper we present the results of tests for the high-T-c superconduct ing (HTS) power cables and analysis of HTS power transmission system in Kor ea. A prototype HTS cables have been constructed using Bi-2223 based Ag-she athed HTS tapes. The prototype cable has been tested at 77K with DC current s. Results shows that the cable carrying up to 730A DC and analyzed the fea sibility of HTS power transmission system at Seoul area in Korea. According to analysis results, HTS power system can be reduced 5.2%similar to 9.7% o f the underground transmission lines compared to conventional cable system in Seoul, Korea and HTS power cable is feasible in future power system.
