Abstract
Reaction of the complex [Cp*(PPh3)(2)RuCl] with excess HSiMe2Cl yielded the ctihydridr silyl derivative [Cp*(PPh3)RuH2(SiClMe2)] (2) which has been cr ystallographically characterised. Comparison of the structure of 2 with tha t of the previously reported complex [Cp*(PPr3i)RuH2(SiClHMes)] (1) reveale d that the latter complex has non-classical interligand hypervalent interac tions between the silyl acid one of the hydride ligands.
