The reaction of ethanolic solutions of Na(SR) (SR=4-oxo-2-thioxopyrimi
dines) with [AuCIL] (L=PPh3, PPh2Me and AsPh3) gives [Au(SR)L]; when P
PN[AuCl2] or NBu4[AuBr(C6F5)] are used instead, PPN[Au(SR)(2)] and NBu
4[Au(C6F5)(SR)] are obtained. The structure of [Au(SR1)(PPh3)] has bee
n established by X-ray diffraction, and shows a linear coordination at
gold involving the phosphine phosphorus and the exocyclic sulfur atom
of the organic ligand.
