Densities, relative permittivities, and refractive indices were measured at
(15, 20, 25, 30, and 35) degrees C, over the whole composition range of th
e binary mixtures propylene carbonate + o-xylene and propylene carbonate m-xylene. Excess volumes were found to be negative, and the values were fit
ted to a Redlich-Kister type equation. Apparent dipole moments were calcula
ted, as well as deviations in relative permittivity, molar refraction, and
molar polarization.
