Abstract
A comparison of analytical data on natural soils with laboratory model ing data demonstrates that soils with a bleached eluvial horizon, whic h differ in ecological functions and properties, are formed by a numbe r of different mechanisms. The contribution of each of these mechanism s is predetermined by the combination of soil-forming factors.
