Abstract
Morphometric parameters of one-year-old needles and the content of tot al nitrogen in current-year needles allow us to make a highly probable estimate of the fertility of forest peat soils. The regression equati ons between the nitrogen content in needles, their weight and length, and the total soil nitrogen reserves and pine stand productivity are r eported.
