This article reports the development of an electronic manometer for use in
the measurement of blood pressure. It is intended to act as a re-placement
gauge for the mercury and aneroid manometers used In conventional sphygmoma
nometers. It measures pressure in the range 0-300 mm Hg (0-40 kPa) with a r
esolution of I mm Hg (0.13 kPa) and art accuracy of +/- 1 mm Hg if 0.13 kPa
) which is displayed on a liquid crystal display. It operates from a 9 V PP
3 battery over a temperature range of 10-50 degrees C.
