Abstract
A new formula for calculation of ecotoxic danger of a range of organoc hlorine compounds is advanced with an account of their persistence, to xicity, and level of soil contamination. A new unit ecotox is introduc ed on the basis of the most studied preparation, DDT. It is shown that a number of organochlorine insecticides are less harmful than DDT.
