Abstract
The effect of different ameliorants (CaCO3, NaNO3, microcrystalline ce llulose, activated carbon, and zeolite) on biological activity of gray forest soil polluted with copper (CuSO4) was studied in a model exper iment. The main criterion was soil capacity to decompose cellulose det ermined by the application method. The application of CaCO3, NaNO3, an d zeolite was found to stimulate soil cellulosolytic activity, while t he application of microcrystalline cellulose and activated carbon inhi bited it.
