A model is presented for the rotating ring-ring electrode. Although the ele
ctrode is defined by four characteristic lengths, it is shown that the coll
ection efficiency depends on only two dimensionless parameters. A simple re
lationship between these and the corresponding parameters for the rotating
ring-disk electrode is pointed out. The model is verified by experiments wi
th the ferricyanide/ferrocyanide system at gold electrodes. (C) 2000 The El
