Cr. Chen et al., Finite element analysis about effects of stiffness distribution on stresses and elastic strain energy near the triple junction in a tricrystal, MAT SCI E A, 282(1-2), 2000, pp. 170-176
A three-dimensional anisotropic finite element analysis was performed to in
vestigate stresses and elastic strain energy in the models that were taken
from a copper tricrystal. The purpose was to determine how the stiffness di
stribution affected the stress-state near the triple junction. The finite e
lement results show that stresses and elastic strain energy density near th
e triple junction depend greatly on the stiffness distribution in tricrysta
l models. Because the bending and twisting deformation occurs when the tric
rystal is uniaxially loaded, stresses at surfaces are significantly differe
nt from the interior stresses near triple junction. (C) 2000 Elsevier Scien
