Abstract
Research works concerning making an alloying addition of scandium to alumin ium alloys are carried out for nearly 30 years in Russia. As a result of th ese studies, main regularities characterising the effect of scandium on a s tructure and properties of aluminium alloys have been found and, based on t his, principles of making an alloying addition of scandium to aluminium all oys and foundations of a technology for production of wrought semiproducts have been formulated.
