Abstract
We report the results of the time-resolved emission spectra and the decay c urves, concerning the important green emission transition at 544 nm (D-5(4) -->F-7(5)). Five other transitions at 489 nm (D-5(4) --> F-7(6)), 585 nm (D -5(4) --> F-7(4)), 620 nm (D-5(4) --> F-7(3)), 674 nm (D-5(4) --> F-7(2)) a nd 648 nm (D-5(4) --> F-7(1)) of Tb3+: (La,Y)PO4 and (La,Gd)PO4 were measur ed to understand the influences of the wavelengths of excitation, in emitti ng green color from these two novel phosphor materials. It was observed tha t the spectral features possess sharp and bright emission for potential app lications on the monitors of the television and some other related electron ic systems, in observing the images in green color.
