Abstract
We have investigated the resonant third-order nonlinear optical properties of a new subphthalocyanine (bromoboron trineopentyloxy-subphthalocyanine) u sing picosecond degenerate four-wave mixing. The measured chi(pure)((3)) wa s 6.9 x 10(-10) esu. The second hyperpolarizability [y] value is 3.0 x 10(- 31) esu. The response time of chi((3)) was determined to be less than the r esolution of optical pulse duration (<35 ps). (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V . All rights reserved.
