Isotope shifts and hyperfine structure constants of the neutron-deficient i
sotopes Yb-155, Tm-154(I =9), Tm-154(I=2), and Tm-153(I=11/2) have been mea
sured by the resonance ionization spectroscopy in the laser ion source. The
changes in mean-square charge radii [r(2)] and the electromagnetic moments
mu and Q(s) of these isotopes have been determined. A new method for backg
round suppression for the laser spectroscopy in the ion source of mass sepa
rator has been proposed and applied.
