The scattering of low-energy electrons and positrons From gaseous C-60 mole
cules provides much interesting information on the behavior of this molecul
e and on the relationship between its structural features and its response
to slow electrons and positrons. Our model For these processes has no adjus
table parameters and includes both interaction potentials to describe polar
ization effects and a non-local exchange potential in the case of electron
scattering. These theoretical investigations have allowed us to give a micr
oscopic interpretation of observed experimental behavior and has allowed us
to propose additional experiments which should exhibit features in both el
ectron and positron low-energy collisions which are unique to the C-60 mole
cule.
