Abstract
General trends in changing the interatomic distances and, accordingly, meta l-ligand bond strengths with changing metal oxidation state are derived fro m the literature X-ray diffraction data on the isostructural redox complexe s. It is shown that these relationships can be violated in the presence of the metal-metal bonds in a compound.
