Abstract
Double plasmon-pole approximation has been applied to calculate the band-ga p renormalization (BGR) of highly excited quantum-well wires. Numerical cal culations for GaAs quantum-well wires showed that the double plasmon-pole a pproximation results agree well with the results of the more sophisticated RPA.
