Sw. Tkaczyk et J. Swiatek, On the influence of p-quinquephenyl doping on some electrical properties of 1,4-cis-polybutadiene, SYNTH METAL, 109(1-3), 2000, pp. 255-258
This paper contains results on the electrical conductivity of 1,4-cis-polyb
utadiene doped with p-quinquephenyl. The aim of these measurements was to s
tudy conduction mechanisms. Methods of introducing charge carriers into the
bulk of the material and transport properties were taken into consideratio
n. X-ray diffraction measurements were carried out to study the structure o
f the material as well as the phase transitions. As this work presents only
part of our investigations, they are restricted to the results obtained fo
r a layer thickness of d = 2.506 mu m with aluminium and gold electrodes. M
easurements were performed in the temperature range from 16 to 364 K and el
ectric fields up to 10(9) V/m. 1,4-cis-Polybutadiene consisting of 96% cis-
and 4% trans- form was purchased from Philips Petroleum. Quinquephenyl was
produced by Tokyo Kasei Kogyo. DC conductivity was controlled by Poole-Fre
nkel effect. The energy of activation was also determined. (C) 2000 Elsevie
