The effect of labeling herbicides with their mode of action: A European perspective

The arguments for and against placing a symbol containing a letter to denot e the mode of action on herbicide labels in Europe are reviewed. There is n o clear view within and between the organizations that may influence the de cision. However, it is generally accepted that such an initiative only shou ld be part of an integrated approach to prevent the development of herbicid e resistance in weeds.
