Today laparoscopy in cattle is used successfully as supplemental diagnostic
tool regarding clinical as well as laboratory diagnostic examinations. By
all means practical experience is necessary to carry out laparoscopic techn
ique without any risks. Furtheron knowledge of topographic position of the
abdominal organs is of utmost importance. The aim of this study was to esta
blish a suitable method for laparoscopic examination of cattle in upright p
osition via the Fossa paralumbalis sinistra. Moreover the effects of laparo
scopic intervention and pneumoperitoneum were tested. The organs of the abd
ominal and pelvic cavity were photographed and for diagnostic purpose the e
xact positions indicated.
