Abstract
Communities including frugivorous Drosophila and larval parasitoids (Leptop ilina) were studied in the south-eastern part of France. The area north to Valence (45.5 degrees N lat.) is the northern limit of L. boulardi; the sec ond species L. heterotoma is widely distributed in France. Population dynam ics are different between species according to regions, and field data show competitive interactions. Populations of L. heterotoma can subsist by avoi ding competition and by local differenciations of behavioural traits.
