Abstract
Stems of Rubus sp. were examined in 42 stations in the Cukurova (Turkey, Me diterranean region) and adjacent areas in July and October 1997 and 553 nes ts were collected, containing 1.140 solitary bees of the genus Ceratina. Tw elve different species have been observed: C. bifida, C. bispinosa, C. chal ybea, C. chrysomalla, C. cucurbitina, C. dallatorreana, C. loewi, C mandibu laris, C. moricei, C. nigroaenea, C. parvula and C, schwarzi. The plain fau na of the Cukurova is mostly represented by C. mandibularis and other therm ophile east-Mediterranean species. The altitude fauna, occurring above 900 metres on the Taurus spurs, is mostly represented by circum-Mediterranean s pecies and especially by C. cucurbitina.
