A. Alix et al., Sublethal effects of topical exposure to chlorfenvinphos on reproduction parameters of Trybliographa rapae (Westwood) (Hymenoptera : Figitidae), ANN SOC ENT, 35, 1999, pp. 356-363
The effects of chlorfenvinphos on potential fecundity and mating behaviour
of Trybliographa rapae (Westw.) were studied. Our results show that the ins
ecticide, applied at the field recommended dose, presents no ovicidal prope
rties. Nevertheless, losses of eggs were observed in females deprived of ho
sts, indicating a reduced potential fecundity induced by the insecticide. C
hlorfenvinphos also inhibits parasitoids mating, with observed effects on m
ales as well as on females. However, this inhibition is not related to pois
oning symptoms.
