Abstract
The horminone (C20H28O4, M-r = 332.85) was first isolated from the leaves o f Rabdosia Serra (Maxim) Hara and its crystal structure was determined by X ray diffraction method. Horminone is orthorhombic with space group P2(1)P2( 1)P2(1), a = 7.7186(7), b = 9. 5506(9)1 c = 24. 221(2) Angstrom, V = 1785. 9(3) Angstrom(3), Z = 4, D-c = 1. 236 g/cm(3), lambda = 0. 71073 Angstrom, mu(MoK alpha) = 0. 085mm(-1), F(000) = 720. The structure was refined to R = 0. 0369, wR = 0. 0978 for 2446 reflections with I > 2 sigma(I). X-ray dif fraction analysis reveals that there are three six-membered rings in the ti tle molecule. Ring A is in the chair conformation, ring C has the structure of quinone and there are two intermolecular hydrogen bonds between two mol ecules.
