Abstract
Using the particle-number-conserving method we show that the observed downt urn of J((2)) of the superdeformed band Hg-194((1)) can be satisfactorily a ccounted for, provided that both the monopole and quadrupole pairing intera ction are included in the cranked shell model Hamiltonian.
