Abstract
A reactive molecular discharge with methane and oxygen as feed gases is inv estigated by laser absorption spectroscopy and a numerical model. Some aspe cts of the plasma chemistry, especially that of the methyl radical, are dis cussed and a few remarks are made on the temporal evolution of methane and carbon monoxide.
