Abstract
An experimental study is presented on the thermal conductivity of a se ries of physically crosslinked polyolefin foams with different chemica l compositions, based on LDPE (low density polyethylene), PP (polyprop ylene), EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), and closed cell structure. The a ims of this work are to discover the relationships between the mechani sms for thermal transmission, the morphology of the foams and the dete rmination of the variables which may modify the insulating properties of these materials so that they can be optimised.
