A method of satellite network configuration control is proposed in which th
e transmitted power of multiple earth stations is controlled, and received
power-differences are established among them to generate the capture effect
. The performance of the proposed method is also evaluated. First, the outl
ines of the system configuration used in experiments are presented and the
fabricated satellite circuit monitoring/control system and the concepts of
inbound and outbound satellite communication network control are described.
Next, experimental results on the capture effect are presented and the pos
sibility of its uses in satellite circuits is considered. Further, the meth
od of station switchover required in application of the capture effect appl
ied to satellite communication network control is also proposed and its cap
abilities are assessed. Finally, the concept of so-called "stealthy transmi
ssion" is introduced as a new application of the capture effect. The satell
ite circuit switching required in sending the stealthy transmission is desc
ribed and its possibility is verified. (C) 2000 Scripts Technica, Electron
