T. Ohshima et al., PHOTOLUMINESCENCE BEHAVIOR AND PHOTOINDUCED ELECTRON-TRANSFER OF RU(BPY)(3)(2+) IN A POLYSILOXANE FILM, New journal of chemistry, 21(5), 1997, pp. 615-619
The photoluminescence behavior and photoinduced electron transfer of R
u(bpy)(3)(2+) in a polysiloxane film were studied by observing the tem
perature dependence of the excited-state lifetime of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+); a
long lifetime in a polysiloxane film was attributed to the restricted
molecular mobility of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+), Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) and phenothiazin
e (PTZ) were dispersed in a polysiloxane film, and electron transfer f
rom PTZ to Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) was studied by the reductive quenching of t
he emission from Ru(bpy)(3)(2+). The electron-transfer reaction from
PTZ to Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) occurred by a static mechanism, and the electro
n-transfer distance was found to be 1.5 nm.
