We report results of polarized reflection spectra of YBa2Cu3O7 films a
nd a calculation of the in-plane optical constants. We find a typical
metallic behavior up to a photon energy of 3 eV. In particular, the im
aginary part of the dielectric function is small above the onset of th
e plasma edge, in contrast to previous results. A plasma energy of 1.2
-1.3 eV is estimated from the results.
