Abstract
The seeds of Evonimus japonicus L., Piracantha coccinea L. and Amelanchier cannadensis L. contained 45.4%, 3.7% and 7.2% oil respectively Oleic, linol eic and palmitic acids predominated in the triacylglycerols. The content of phospholipids in the oils, mainly phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylinosito l, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidic acids was 1.1%, 7.5% and 2.8% respectively. The sterols amounts were found to be 0.4% in Evonimus japonic us L. oil, 0.6% in Piracantha coccinea L. oil and 0.9% in Amelanchier canna densis L. oil. beta-Sitosterol was the main component in ail oils. Campeste rol, stigmasterol, brassicasterol, cholesterol, Delta(7)-stigmasterol, Delt a(7,25)-stigmasterol, Delta(5)-avenasterol and Delta(7)-avenasterol were id entified in small quantities too. All of the tocopherols were identified in the oils.
