New representatives of an original class of crown ethers--cyclopenta- and c
yclohexaresorcinolamidophosphites-were synthesized using the molecular asse
mblage technique. Their thio and oxo derivatives were obtained as well as t
he rhodium (I) complexes. A macrocycle containing both tri- and pentavalent
phosphorus atoms 2-was synthesized H-1 and P-31 NMR spectroscopy data sugg
ested the higher conformational flexibility of phosphite macrocycles as com
pared to phosphate ones. (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
