In this paper, a Gaussian interpolation filter and cubic interpolation filt
er are presented as more accurate interpolation filters compared to the con
ventional linear interpolation filter. In addition to an interpolation filt
er, a low pass filter using FFT and IFFT is also presented to reduce the no
isy components of a channel estimate obtained by an interpolation filter. C
hannel estimates after low-pass filtering combined with interpolation filte
rs can lower the error floor compared to the use of only interpolation filt
ers. Computer simulation demonstrates that the presented channel estimation
methods exhibit an improved performance compared to the conventional linea
r interpolation filter.
