Abstract
Experiments on, the current driven by surface acoustic waves in one dimensi onal semiconductor channels are presented. Due to electron confinement by t he wave and the channel potentials quantized electron transport is observed when one electron is transferred through the channel per surface acoustic wave cycle. The accuracy of current quantization achieved so far is discuss ed.
