Jp. Hua et al., Determination of capture cross sections and trap depths of dominant centres in AgCl microcrystals doped with [Ru(CN)(6)](4-) complexes, J PHYS D, 33(5), 2000, pp. 574-583
Both intrinsic centres and [Ru(CN)(6)](4-) associated centres were studied
at 120 K in AgCl microcrystals with and without [Ru(CN)(6)](4-) dopant, by
the transient microwave photoconductivity technique. The densities, capture
cross sections and lower limits of the nap depths of the dominant intrinsi
c centres in AgCl microcrystals can be estimated by a careful comparison be
tween the experimental and simulated transient microwave photoconductivity
in the reference emulsion. It has been shown that, by studying the transien
t microwave photoconductivity of a silver halide emulsion system with long
response rimes (e.g. AgCl microcrystals homogeneously doped with [Ru(CN)(6)
](4-)), not only the capture cross section and trap depth of the [Ru(CN)(6)
](4-) related centres, but also the trap depth of the intrinsic centres can
be more accurately determined. In this way, a new possible method to deter
mine the trap depths of intrinsic centres in silver halides was suggested.
