The C14 Laves phase TiFe2 is an antiferromagnet with a Neel temperature aro
und room temperature. The magnetic properties of the Al substituted system
of TiFe2 have been investigated using magnetisation and NMR measurements. I
t has been found that antiferromagnetism in TiFe2 is suppressed by the Al s
ubstitution in x<0.1, while ferromagnetism appears for 0.1<x<0.5. At x=0.1
ferro- and antiferromagnetism coexist at low temperatures.
