Abstract
Caloplaca cancarixiticola Nav. -Ros., Egea & Llimona (Teloschistales, Liche nes) is described as new. It is characterized by a lobate thallus weakly at tached to the substratum, and narrowly ellipsoid or ellipsoid-fusiform asco spores, (14.5-) 16-22(-25) x (4-)4.5-6 mu m, with a narrow equatorial wall- thickening, only (1-) 25-3.5(-4) mu m wide. This new species, related to th e Caloplaca aurea-group of the subgenus Gasparrinia, was found on cancarixi te, an ultrapotassic rock, in a Volcanic region of Albacete (SE Spain).
