E. Wakai et al., Effects of neutron irradiation on tensile properties in high-purity Fe-(9-50)Cr and Fe-50Cr-xW alloys, MATER T JIM, 41(1), 2000, pp. 136-140
Neutron-irradiation effects on the tensile properties of high-purity Fe-(9-
50)Cr and Fe-50Cr-(0-8)W alloys were investigated. These alloys were irradi
ated at 400, 500. and 600 degrees C to a damage of about 0.4 dpa in a react
or. The yield and ultimate strengths increased by die irradiation. and the
increment of these strengths tended to increase with increasing chromium an
d tungsten contents. The tensile properties of the irradiated alloys were d
uctile, except for the Fe-50Cr and Fe-50Cr-W alloys irradiated at lower tem
peratures than 500 degrees C. These behaviors ore thought to be intimately
related to alpha'-precipitates and dislocation loops formed by the irradiat
ion.
