S. Isozaki et K. Abiko, Role of tungsten in the mechanical properties of a high-purity Fe-50mass%Cr alloy at 293-773 K, MATER T JIM, 41(1), 2000, pp. 194-196
The effect of tungsten on the mechanical properties of the high-purity Fe-5
0mass%Cr alloy between 293 and 773 K was investigated by tensile testing an
d microstructural observation. It is concluded from the Present experimenta
l research that, by doping of tungsten, (1) 0.2% proof stress and tensile s
trength are enhanced, (2) the ductility at 673 and 773 K is surprisingly im
proved, (3) twinning is promoted and (4) the morphology of twin-matrix inte
rfaces changes from wavy to linear. Consequently, the doping oft tungsten i
s effective in strengthening and improving ductility at 673 and 773 K.
