The species Tejidotaenia appendiculata (Baylis, 1947), a parasite found in
teju, Tupinambis teguixin is redescribed and a new diagnosis is provided. T
he species is characterized by the anterior position of the ovary and the p
eculiar shape of suckers. It is the first record of this species in Brazil.
