Abstract
The fluoroarylgermylene is[2,4,6-tris(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]germanium (II) was synthesized by the reaction of 2 equiv of [2,4,6-tris(trifluo romethyl)phenyl]lithium with GeCl2 . dioxane. This monomeric germylene has good thermal stability, despite having the least sterically encum bering set of stabilizing ligands of any alkyl germylene isolated to d ate.
